Best Ski Resorts in America
Northern Vermont Ski Resorts

Planning to be skiing in New England? Some of the best ski resorts in America are Northern Vermont ski resorts! Great snowfall, huge verticles, and great variety of terrain top the list!

The first and most important is annual snowfall. Most of the ski resorts in Vermont receive almost 100 more inches of the natural stuff each year than their counterparts in New Hampshire, Maine and Southern New England!

How about mountain size and terrain variety? Stowe Ski Resort and Sugarbush both have huge verticals and ton of terrain for all abilities. They both have some of the toughest trails in the east also.

If those two resorts are a little out of you price range try Burke Mountain or Bolton Valley. Both of these resorts are not quite as big and lesser known than the first two but each has good terrain and conditions. I personally am a huge fan of Burke as it is always uncrowded and the terrain is top notch!

Smugglers Notch ranks in the top 10 ski resorts year in and year out for the best family ski resorts. It is not only a great family mountain but hardcore skiers and riders will find everything they are looking for.

I could go on and on and on about these resorts and the others in northern Vermont especially Jay Peak and Mad River Glen. Jay and Mad River are in classes by themselves. They both have good verticals, get tons of snow and have the best tree skiing in the east. For more information regarding these ski areas and more including trail maps, mountain stats, prices and lodging options visit Vermont ski resorts .

OneGirl note: Great photo Kevin! If you've skiied Sun
