Econo Lodge Kamloops
Love It or Hate It!
The Econo Lodge Kamloops in Sahali on Columbia Street qualifies as a discount motel in my opinion with summer rates at around $79 and winter rates around $69 per night which is very reasonable for Kamloops accommodation but the very mixed reviews cause me to go searching for other Kamloops motels!

The Econo Lodge is just a five minute drive to downtown and is within easy walking distance to many services including:
• Chapters Viewpoint restaurant - higher end dining with a Mexican flare
• Red Robin – hamburgers, etc. with a very large menu
• Earls – great food, great atmosphere, trendy menu
• A & W – fast food restaurant
• Starbucks - coffee
• Tim Hortons – coffee and donuts
• Safeway grocery store
Traveler Reviews
The Sahali Kamloops Econo Lodge has received mixed travel reviews with people either loving or hating it. You should keep in mind that it is one of the cheapest motels in Kamloops when choosing your Kamloops accommodation. It may not seem inexpensive compared with motels in other cities but is very competitive within the Kamloops accommodation prices.
Travelers staying at the Econo Lodge Kamloops have had good things to say including:
• good internet access
• generously sized rooms
• well re-modeled
• allows pets for an extra $10 per night
• kitchenettes available
Many people felt that the motel rooms weren’t very clean. Some people didn’t like that the pool was quite shallow and was closed on some occasions.
My Recommendation
I’m hesitant to recommend this Kamloops motel as a value Kamloops accommodation due to the mixed reviews but it does have a great location and a great price.
New Econo Lodge Kamloops
There is a new Kamloops Econo Lodge in Valleyview – east of downtown. This Kamloops motel has great highway access and is only a five minute drive to downtown.
Rates start at $69 with an extra $10 charge for pets. They have an indoor pool and hot tub and wireless internet.

The new Valleyview Econo Lodge is within easy walking distance to many restaurants including:
• Harold’s – one of my top rated family restaurants
• Arby’s – fast food
• McDonalds – fast food
• Wendy’s – fast food
• J & K Sushi
• Tim Hortons – coffee and donuts
