Kamloops British Columbia is big enough to have all the services you could need, and small enough to offer the small-town feel and easy access to outdoor activities.
Here are some of the reasons I love it here:
The Great Kamloops British Columbia Weather with Tons of Sunshine!
Sometimes I might think a little too much sunshine! (As I’m writing this, we’re in our second week of 35+ heat and I have no air conditioning!) I love that we get so little rain and so much sunshine – almost every day is a good beach day. Even the winters are so much better because it’s so sunny here! Check out the
current Kamloops weather forecast.
Kamloops British Columbia is Community That Cares
Check out the Boys and Girls Club of Kamloops’ murder masquerade party … tons of fun with great community support. Bistro 326 coordinated and five local restaurants donated all the food for the event to helps us raise money for kids in the community.
Tournament Capital of Canada with Great Sporting Events
Kamloops British Columbia is known as the “tournament capital of Canada” and aims to live up to it’s name!
The list is endless but to name a few of the events we’ve hosted here:
the Brier,
Canada Summer Games,
Strauss Canada Cup,
Kamloops Invitational Baseball Tournament (KIBT),
Kamloops International Bantam Ice Hockey Tournament (KIBIHT)
Reasonably Priced Real Estate
Kamloops BC real estate has got to be one of the best deals around – with condos starting at as little as $120,000 and houses starting at as little as $220,000 - Kamloops is an affordable place to own your own home.
When you compare what $500,000 can by you in Kelowna, Vancouver, Victoria, and Kamloops - Kamloops wins for best BC real estate hands down.
Great Recreational Sports Facilities
We have great recreational sports facilities for every sport you can imagine. Baseball, slo-pitch, soccer, indoor soccer, lacrosse, curling, skating, hockey, golf, tennis, biking … you name it we’ve got it!
In addition to the city run facilities we have a number of privately owned facilities such as Soccerquest, the Ice Box, and Ropes End climbing gym.
Thompson Rivers University
Offering both community college and university level programs - what a great asset to a city like Kamloops. I attended Thompson Rivers University – TRU - when it was University College of the Cariboo and loved that I received a fantastic education while getting to stay in my hometown! I also loved that tuition and rent were so much cheaper here than if I had to move to Vancouver to attend Simon Fraser University or University of British Columbia.
Sun Peaks Resort
World class
Sunpeaks skiing
and competitions, great lessons, runs for all levels, great hotels, fantastic shopping, unique restaurants, golfing, biking, hiking, spas, outdoor adventure;
Sun Peaks Canada
has something for everyone. I love that you can plan a day, a weekend, or a week at Sun Peaks and never get bored. It’s a great little day trip from Kamloops a 45 minute drive), it’s close enough to go for lunch, wander through the Village and come home.
Water, Water, Everywhere!
Fishing, boating, floating, kayaking, canoeing, swimming, waterskiing, wake boarding, jet skiing, dragon boating – you want to do it in the water you can probably do it in or around Kamloops British Columbia!
