Like great food, cheap?
Here's Our Best Cheap Kamloops Restaurants
You don’t have to spend a lot to get some great food in Kamloops. Some of the best Kamloops restaurants are the least expensive. If you’re willing to search a bit and love a place with “rustic charm”
then a great meal is yours to be had at a fantastic price!
Top Cheap Kamloops Restaurant
If you’re looking for a great family restaurant with wide selection of “classic” menu items then Harold’s
is the place to be. On the Trans Canada Highway in Valleyview they’ve been around forever and are still
run by the same family. You can tell they’re great by the always full parking lot!
Other Favourite Cheap Restaurants include:
• Senior Froggy’s (eat-in or takeout)
A Kamloops icon, Senor Froggy’s now has two kamloops locations (downtown and the north shore). They serve some
of the quickest, least expensive, and most importantly delicious Mexican food in the BC interior. Even if
you’re up on the hill I’d say Senior Froggy’s is worth the trip! They were the winners of the Kamloops Daily
News Best Mexican Restaurant Reader’s Choice award in 2005 through 2008. Definitely one of my favourite Kamloops restaurants!
• Fratelli Foods (takeout only)
A great little spot on Victoria Street in downtown Kamloops. Fratelli’s has a deli counter, fresh fruit and
veggies, a sandwich counter for made to order sandwiches, a two item soup bar, and a bar with usually two salad
selections and two hot food selections (paid by weight). If you’re interested in the soup, salad or hot food
selections get there as soon after 12 noon as you can as they go fast! This is a favourite with the downtown Kamloops
business community.
• Erwin’s Fine Baking (takeout and window bar for quick lunches)
Set in the back of Erwin’s convenience store at Fourth and St. Paul downtown, Erwin’s has a great selection of
pre-made (but very fresh) sandwiches,a soup of the day, a daily special, one or two small salad selections,
sausage rolls, one variety of home-made thick crust pizza, and of course a fine selection of breads and other
baked goods. While I rave about most of their food … I simply can’t get enough of their ham and cheese croissants!
They’re fantastic!!! Go early though – they’re prepared for the breakfast crowd and they’re generally gone by lunch.
• Mountain High Pizza (takeout, three outdoor tables, and indoor counter)
Mountain High is a great Kamloops pizza option if you’re downtown looking for an inexpensive lunch/snack. On the
300 block of Victoria Street, $5 will get you a slice and a drink.
• The Wok Box (eat-in, takeout, or delivery)
In the Wal-Mart plaza in Aberdeen The Wok Box serves made-to-order asian cuisine including Chinese (fried rice,
chow mien, lemon chicken) and stir-fry (pad thai, teriyaki, butter chicken). I loved their teriyaki stir-fry and
their wonton soup – yummy! Definitely in the top 10 for favourite cheap Kamloops Restaurants!
These are my top picks for best cheap Kamloops restaurants. I love them and visit them often!
