Looking for the Low-Down on Kamloops Shopping?
My Recommendations for the Best Shopping in Town

Kamloops shopping receives it’s fair share of cynical comments and at first glace you may think we have good but not great shopping as we lack some of the big chain stores that cities like Kelowna and Vancouver have. The upside to this is that we’ve grown some great local stores that offer unique items.

Downtown Shopping

Check out Essentials & Beyond, on Victoria Street for a great selection of women’s dresses, bathing suits and casual wear at mid-range prices.

If you’re looking for higher end, brand name items Jardine’s Domaine (men’s and women’s), Main Street (men’s and women’s), and 406 Boutique (women’s) all on Victoria Street are the places to be.

The downtown shopping review wouldn’t be complete without mention of the Kamloops Farmers’ Market – Saturday’s on the 200 block of St. Paul Street and Wednesday’s on the 400 block of Victoria Street. In addition to the obvious local grown harvests, baked goods, and nursery items, there are also a number of craft people selling their wares. The official hours are 8 am until 2 pm but I would try to make it by noon if you’re planning a visit as some of the venders start packing up by then.

Aberdeen Shopping

Aberdeen Mall (on the hill) is our big shopping mall with most of the chain stores you would expect. The big department stores are The Bay and Sears. If you’re looking for a great gift idea Aberdeen Mall gift certificates might be just the thing as the recipient can use them at any of the stores there.

If flea markets are more your thing there is quite a large one in the parking lot of the North Hills Mall on Sundays throughout the summer.

These are my top picks for the best Kamloops shopping. If you have other great shops that you'd like to recommend, please use the form below to share your opinion!
